Description: Rannels-Kettle Run is a 91 acre nature preserve bordered by the state game-land in the northern part of Lancaster County. This preserve contains a mature hardwood forest and over ¼ mile of the Kettle Run stream corridor. A trail is connected to a section of the state game-land trail. The Horseshoe trail runs across the preserve and is used in part of the Conservancy's loop trail. There is an elevation change of nearly 500' on the property between the stream and the boundary line with the Horseshoe Trail preserve. There is a geocache hidden on this property. Directions to Rannels-Kettle Run Nature Preserve The Rannels-Kettle Run Nature Preserve is located near the Lancaster-Lebanon County border. To reach this area, take PA Route 501 north out of Lancaster, through Lititz, to the red light at Brickerville. At Brickerville, go left (west) on US Route 322. Go left on Speedwell Forge Road and then right on Pumping Station Road. Here you will find a good-sized parking area. To access the Rannels-Kettle Run Nature Preserve, walk west along the Horseshoe Trail from the parking lot. |
