The Lancaster Conservancy’s Education and Engagement Committee requests your support to provide cold weather gear and basic toiletries for a winter camping experience for 120 School District of Lancaster middle school students who are currently experiencing homelessness or transition on some level. The urgency of our request is due to the unexpected loss of the School District of Lancaster’s corporate sponsor who supplied these needed items.
Thanks to the Conservancy’s partnership with NorthBay and the School District of Lancaster, these middle school students will take their first field trips to NorthBay for an overnight experience “downstream” in February and to Climbers Run for an “upstream” experience in the spring. Filling these essential needs will ensure that these students will more easily engage in this unique learning experience.
