The Lancaster Conservancy will be holding a Bat House Building Workshop on August 10th from 4:30pm to 8:30pm at Climbers Run Nature Preserve. Included in the event fee of $65 is a double chamber bat house that you will get to assemble and take home with you! A presentation from expert Julie Zeyzus of Bat Conservation and Management Inc. on the importance of bats. Plus a presentation from Dr. Aaron Haines and Carter Farmer about Millersville University’s bat citizen science project.

***Join us afterwards for a night walk around Climbers Run using bat detectors starting at dusk! This walk is free for those attending the Workshop, but separate registration is required due to the limited size of the group that we can accommodate on the walk.

Bat House Building Workshop [4:30 – 6:30pm]

[4:30 – 6:30pm] Install a bat house in a sunny location on a pole or building can help in bat conservation. Consider building a bat house for yourself or someone you love! The double chamber dimensions are: 24 in. height x 18 in. width x 3.25 in. depth. The double chamber can house about 72 bats.
