Details

Take a hike at the Conservancy’s largest nature preserve in Lancaster! Our Senior Vice President of Land Protection, Kate Gonick, and Land Protection Manager, Jenn Teson, will discuss the fascinating history of Welsh Mountain and the incredible natural resources it protects. Go behind the scenes at this over 900 acre preserve and explore the restoration area that protects the headwaters of both the Pequea and Conestoga Creeks.

Hikers should wear comfortable closed toed shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather as we’ll be outside the entire time. We’ll plan to hike approximately 2 miles.

If there is a forecast of weather conditions that would make the hike unsafe, hikers will be notified of a cancellation and refunded 24 hours prior to the event.

There are no bathrooms at Welsh Mountain Nature Preserve.
