Lancaster Tree Tenders and the City of Lancaster are organizing a riparian buffer planting on over an acre of property. We will be planting approximately 250 trees and shrubs.

This planting is part of a Lancaster City grant “Buffering the Conestoga” that was awarded from DCNR. We are being generously supported by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation Keystone 10 Million Trees initiative plus Sterling Place HOA and residents.

Site Prep is scheduled for Friday, November 1st from 9:00am to 1:00pm. If you are able to help with the prep, please contact LancasterTreeTenders@gmail.com for additional details.

Planting Day – Saturday, November 2

Starting Time: 9:00am / volunteers should arrive approximately 8:30am

Place: Waste Water Treatment Plant property located off of Sterling Place. The meeting spot is the parking lot located at 1090 Sterling Place. The planting is a short walk from this site.

Directions from Lancaster City (see screen shot below):

• Take New Danville Pike South (Rte 324)

• Right turn – Second Lock Road

• Right turn – Dante Blvd

• Left turn – Kentshire Drive

• Stay on Kentshire until Sterling Place

• Right turn – Sterling Place

• Go about 3 blocks and the meeting area is on your left. Parking is available in the small lot or along the street.

Bring: Shovels & mallets if you have them (make sure your name is marked on your tools) plus gloves.
