Let’s Rally for the River and work together to clean up the Conestoga – Pennsylvania’s 2026 River of the Year! Keeping debris from entering our waterways is critical to ensuring our community has clean water for swimming, paddling, fishing, and drinking. Volunteer with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay and partners at multiple locations along the Conestoga River to help Lancaster County work towards cleaner and healthier streams, rivers, and communities!

Join us at Lancaster County Central Park Pavilion 1 at 9:00 a.m. to enjoy community, snacks, and coffee as we hear from speakers before heading out to our Conestoga Cleanup sites. The Conestoga has been named the 2026 Pennsylvania River of the Year, and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than by stewarding this community treasure as a part of the 10th Anniversary of Water Week! All cleanup groups will launch following the rally.

Since the first Lancaster Water Week in 2017, the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay and multiple partners have gathered at different locations throughout Lancaster County to remove trash from the water and along the banks of our streams and rivers. Plastic bottles and bags, a shopping cart, so many tires, and even an ill-fated ATM have been plucked from the water thanks to the efforts of hundreds of volunteers.
After we Rally for the River, help out with our cleanup efforts this year by joining one of the sites listed below!
