Dear Friends,
Reflecting on 2024, we’re reminded of the great challenges we face as a community fighting to keep our natural lands intact and protected. While we celebrated many accomplishments, which you will read about in the pages ahead, our natural lands also faced – and continue to face – many immediate threats.

We continue to work with our local and regional partners to defend Cuffs Run, a beautiful glen in York County that is threatened by a senseless pumped storage facility that could irrevocably change our beautiful Susquehanna landscape forever. The fight will continue in 2025, as the Conservancy and our partners pursue legal action to halt this project.
The Conservancy is also continuing to accelerate our core work to permanently conserve our natural lands, with over 300 acres set to be acquired in spring of 2025. Once the land is protected, our stewardship team works methodically to plan for long-term management, restoration, and access. With the completion of the Lloyd Clark Trail, the Conservancy now has three universal access trails open to the public and three more planned in the coming years – removing barriers so that more members of our community can get outdoors and connect with nature.
As we look to the future, we know there are larger questions to answer about how and where we do our work. To that end, our Board and staff have embarked on an updated strategic plan that will be completed in 2025. With the rapid growth of our organization come important questions related to long-term sustainability and funding, and we look forward to sharing our vision for the future with all of you later this year!
As you’ll read in the report above, it takes an entire community to ensure the Conservancy’s success in protecting and stewarding our natural lands, forever. We hope each of you knows that your support has a direct and positive impact on our community and our environment. Thank you for your commitment to nature!
With gratitude,
