Dr. Meghan Gonick, ND will talk about some of the amazing native plants we can grow to help sustain ourselves and the ecosystem all while beautifying our yards. We will discuss common and commercially available native plants in our region for immune support, wound healing, digestion, inflammation and more. Dr. Gonick will share how to grow and use some of these wonderful plants with an emphasis on simplicity and safety. A list of common European and Chinese herbs that are easily replaced with Native plants will also be included to encourage you to discover how easy going native can be!

About the Presenter

Dr. Meghan Gonick, ND, LAc practices Naturopathic and Traditional Chinese medicine at Generative Health LLC in downtown Lancaster and teaches Botanical Medicine at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. Her undergraduate studies at Millersville University focused on Plant Biology and Chemistry, and her Naturopathic graduate thesis looked at the effects of growing plants in their Native environment on their medical chemical composition. She has been a speaker and written for United Plant Savers conferences. She is currently involved in the startup of a local nonprofit clinic, Natural Wellness Collective, to help provide health education and services to underserved communities focused on herbal and other cost effective natural remedies.

About Nature Hour

Nature Hour is a new virtual lecture series by Lancaster Conservancy that will be taking place every other Wednesday during the months of June and July 2020. To find out about other events in the series please follow this link: www.lancasterconservancy.org/events/

With consideration for the restrictions around COVID-19 and the safety of everyone, the Conservancy is excited to expand our educational outreach using technology to feature presentations and lectures from some of our favorite local and regional experts.

How to Participate

Registration is required. Attendees will receive an e-mail with a link to access the presentation via Zoom the day of the event. Conservancy staff will be on hand starting at 5:30pm prior to each lecture to answer your questions and help you familiarize yourself with how Zoom works.
