Lancaster Conservancy’s Organization Service Days offer groups and businesses the opportunity to visit a nature preserve for a day of volunteering and team building. The volunteers tackle invasive species removal and restoration projects that improve the ecosystems on our preserves, and in the process, have a unique opportunity for growth as a team. In addition to getting out and giving back, the Conservancy’s team weaves educational activities throughout the experience. These service and team building days are also included as one of the many benefits of the Conservancy’s sponsorship program.
“There was a volunteer group from a local business that recently came out to help make our part of the world a better place. The work of pulling invasive plants from the Climbers Run forest created the space for the group to work through a systems problem. It was gratifying for me to listen to them develop a solution, creating deeper bonds as a team,” said Keith Williams, the Conservancy’s Vice President of Engagement and Education. “We create opportunities for people to come together and connect with each other and with the beautiful places we protect and restore. They can see the results of their labor, and the impact they have.”
For local businesses, volunteering on a Conservancy preserve is more than just a team outing. It’s an investment in the community their employees call home and in the places their customers hike, paddle, and recreate. The Conservancy’s efforts to protect and provide access to our woods and waters strengthen our community’s quality of life, making it a more vibrant place to live and work. When nature thrives, so do people and our economy.
“Apex participates in volunteer workdays with Lancaster Conservancy because we believe in protecting and enhancing the natural spaces that make our community special. These opportunities allow our team to connect outside the office, work together toward a meaningful cause, and see firsthand the positive impact we can have. It’s rewarding for our staff and strengthens the community we’re proud to call home.”

“Our company has partnered with the Conservancy for several volunteer days, and each experience has been incredibly rewarding for our team. Stepping outside the office and into nature together creates a unique energy that strengthens relationships, boosts morale, and reconnects us to a shared sense of purpose beyond our day-to-day work. We are always amazed by how much can be accomplished in a single day and by the tangible, positive difference our efforts make for the local environment and community.”

“Two Dudes Painting Company was proud to work with the Lancaster Conservancy through their Organization Service Day program as a way to better engage and connect our team. Spending time together on preserved land allowed us to share our love for Lancaster County’s natural spaces while showing how individual efforts can truly make a difference. The experience empowered our staff, strengthened team connections, and deepened our appreciation for the natural world we’re fortunate to live and work in. We would highly recommend the Organization Service Day program to any organization looking for a meaningful, hands-on way to invest in their team while giving back to the community.”
