Lancaster Conservancy is conducting a search for qualified Planning Consultants to perform Master Planning services for their 1815-acre Lancaster River Hills Conservation Area (LRHCA) that encompasses eight (8) nature preserves and three (3) conservation easements located in Martic and Conestoga townships, Lancaster County, PA.
Recognizing the area’s fragile ecological diversity and irreplaceable natural beauty along with its historical and current ongoing use as an outdoor recreational hub, Lancaster Conservancy is seeking to develop a master plan that we envision being conducted through the synthesis of current in-process ecological survey baseline data and preserve management plan data and prescriptions, along with the process and results of public engagement that facilitates thoughtful, transparent, and mission-driven decisions to guide the future growth of the LRHCA. The result will be a Master Plan that focuses on a balance in the Conservancy’s responsibility to protect and improve wildlife habitat and ecosystem function while promoting education and passive recreation across the preserves and conservation easements.
Proposals are due by 12 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2025. Interested firms with any questions per a review of the RFP linked below should contact Mark Heller at mheller@lancasterconservancy.org or (717) 979-6244.
